Author Notes:

The Comic-Script by ingoFonts, BD Lettering, is a digital typeface that closely emulates genuine handwriting. In the past, cartoons were meticulously lettered by hand, but this practice has become quite rare in today's world. One key reason for this shift is the declining prevalence of elegant penmanship, making it more practical to rely on a dedicated font for lettering. Nevertheless, the chosen font must maintain an authentic hand-written appearance, a quality often lacking in most script fonts. To achieve a truly handwritten aesthetic, the typeface should incorporate noticeable irregularities. These imperfections extend beyond the individual letter shapes. Despite BD Lettering being exclusively composed of capital letters, it distinguishes between uppercase and lowercase characters, introducing numerous alternative forms that automatically activate when the OpenType "Ligatures" feature is employed. This results in the absence of identical double letters or numerals, and a variety of character combinations are defined as ligatures with unique alternatives. As a side note, the font's name pays homage to Belgian and French comics, which are known as "bande dessinée" (or simply "bédé"), often abbreviated as BD in those regions.
