Kitten, crafted by Cosimo Lorenzo Pancini, is a versatile script font family that captures the essence of signpainter aesthetics. This typeface offers a wide array of styles, alternates, and ligatures, with playful cat dingbats contributed by Isabella Ahmadzadeh. In its regular weight, Kitten boasts curvy, bold shapes perfect for logo design and eye-catching displays. Meanwhile, the lighter weights, as well as the monoline and condensed Slant variants, excel in handling longer blocks of text. Kitten is equipped to accommodate the needs of over 40 languages using the Latin alphabet, complete with accents and diacritics. It's available in four weights and offers five distinct style variants: Regular, Slant, Swash, Monoline, and Fat. This font family leverages OpenType substitutions to prevent letter clashes in uppercase and deliver elegant ligatures. To access swashes, you can use the glyph palette or simply type one to six underscores after a letter. Typing a space followed by one to eight underscores produces various cat silhouettes. Additional OpenType features include swash capitals, trailing swashes (achieved by adding underscores after words), conflict-free all-caps styling in the swash version, and a rich selection of ligatures for a more artisanal, organic appearance.
